Gestalt IT: Is the Solid State Drive Hype Over?

When there is such a disparity between consumer and enterprise stuff...well high end IT guys are sometimes oblivious but we're not dumb. I'm running several VMs that have high IO but no lasting data (mostly running compiles) off of a mirrored pair of Intel X-25's. If I can't move my data bases to them I'll just have to wait a bit - either SSD or RAM will work for holding my DB, I don't really care which.
